Snow Day!

Roger had the day off today (don't ask why, it's a long story) and a sudden 40 degree drop in temperature over the past week has brought us freezing temperatures and snow! Even though Roger and I have a serious hatred for cold temperatures and snow, we thought we might as well take the kids out to play in it. And surprisingly enough, even us snow haters had some fun.
Kole, who has never really experienced snow in his life, thoroughly enjoyed it. He was running around yelling, "Snow is fun! I LOVE it!" which led Roger and I to wonder if he is really our child.

We had a snow ball fight!

Abby learned the trick of finding shelter behind the bushes then throwing snow balls at Roger from there!

And we made a snowman! Complete with an Alfalfa like snow hair-do!
Happy snow day everyone! Now I'm ready for the 60-70 degree weather we were having a week ago!

Bump Update!

31 weeks... 127 lbs

Yesterday we had a doctor appointment! He wasn't able to do the ultrasound because I was doing my
1 hour glucose test yesterday too so I had to rush out of there to have my blood drawn.
Anyway, he said everything looks good! Ammon has his head down and ready to go but he is more in a "sunny-side up" position (facing toward my belly, not my spine like most babies are supposed to do) which is the position both Abby and Kole were in when they were delivered!
(Not that it matters with a c-section though).

Speaking of c-section, we got mine scheduled! If all goes according to plan, Roger and I will be showing up to St. Luke's hospital at 6am on April 12th and the c-section will be starting at 7:30am! That is 8 weeks away from yesterday! I'm ready to have it done and over with, but thinking about it makes me kind of sick to my stomach. You would think by the 3rd c-section I would be used to it and not nervous, but I am!

I also got him to agree to me going off of bed rest! He said to try and take it easy though... I guess I no longer have an excuse for my house to not be in pristine condition! Now if you will excuse me, I think I'm going to go vacuum and shampoo all my carpets and rugs!
Hope all is well with you!

Valentine's Day!

First of all, I think you should all know that I dislike Valentine's Day. In fact, I dislike all of the holidays that involve people expecting gifts from others. I'm not a gift person at all... I feel guilty when I receive them because I don't want people to spend their time or money on me. And I dislike the feeling of having to give someone else a gift because they gave me one. I much prefer seeing something that someone would like or needs and giving it to them just because, not because it is a holiday and the gift is expected.
That said, we still celebrate all those holidays. And in spite of my dislike of the holidays, Roger still gets me a gift. Today he came home from work with a card and some chocolates and I said, "I hate gifts, but thank you." And he replied, "I know you do." Haha. Roger will also be picking up his Vday gift tomorrow. He is getting TWO guns! I don't ever want to hear ANYONE say that I don't spoil him rotten! (Yes, [my] mom I am talking to you! Hehe)
Anyway, here is what the kids and I made Roger for Vday!
A heart wreath!
Can you see that Abby wrote "DADDY" under the word "kiss"?
And what she wrote on this one....
She wrote "WE" above "LOVE" and under it she wrote "DADDY"
Well, actually she wrote "DADE" at first because I was telling her how to spell it and I said "d-a-d" and before I could tell her another D she wrote E because it sounds like DAD-E so that's how she thought it must be spelled! Then I corrected her and she tried to write another "D" over her "E" and then wrote a "Y". It's not the easiest thing to read her writing, but I think she did quite well for someone who just turned 4 years old!

Here are some other recent pictures!
Every morning Abby comes into our bedroom and snuggles with Roxy.

Whenever we won't let Kole eat whatever he wants he goes between the fridge and the wall and cries.

Here is the picture Abby drew of me. She said she drew grey hair because my hair is grey...??

Remember those Chinese lanterns we made? Kole found a new use for them...

Look at that! I got a certificate for Roger graduating ALS!

I love springtime don't you!?

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and the doc. should be doing an ultrasound! So hopefully I will get pictures from that and I will update here with anything new! :)
Hope all is well with you!

ALS Graduate!

Congratulations to the handsome SRA Gale!
Last night he graduated from Airman Leadership School!
Now he can sew-on Staff Sergeant (which should happen sometime in April).
Good work Roger/Daddy!
We are all happy to have ALS over with!

新年快乐

Happy Chinese New Year! As promised, here is a post on our festivities of the day!

We decorated the kitchen and gave the kids their "red envelopes" that mommy made.

They opened them up and got their money!
And they put the money in their piggy banks.

Then we made "Chinese Fans" and played with them with daddy while he was home for lunch!
(Technically, our lanterns and fans probably should have been red since that is the lucky color, but I was out of red paper after making the red envelopes.)

Then we made our "dragons"!
Then we went out and had our own little "dragon parade" on the trampoline!

P.S. I don't know if orchids are typically used as decor. in China, but they look Asian to me, and I'm secretly an orchid addict! If they weren't so expensive I'd have them in every room in my house!
Aren't they beautiful!? I LOVE my orchids!

We were going to make some Chinese food for dinner too, but after all those festivities, Amy caught the lazy bug (I'm sure none of you have ever had that problem before)! So since we have left over pizza from Kole's birthday last night, we decided to just have that for dinner.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Birthday Kole!

Today Kole is 2 years old!! What a big boy!
Here is a look back on his first 2 years!
Just born!

First birthday! (He had grabbed the cloud if you couldn't tell.)

And here is today's birthday fun!!

He got sunglasses!!

And...

A flashlight! (And he wasted no time in getting right to teasing Roxy with it!)
And it was even nice enough outside so we put on our jackets and played on the trampoline (his other bday gift)! Where the kids played a nice game of 'Who Can Push The Other Person Over First'.

Cake time!!

Blowing out the candles!

Happy birthday my handsome boy!!

Crafts!

This year we have decided it would be fun to celebrate some holidays we don't normally celebrate (along with our normal holidays too)! Here are some cards that we made for grandparents!

Happy Chinese New Year! (Feb. 3rd)

For these we just traced and cut out the kids' hand prints glued them together to make the dragon's body then added dragon body parts! (unfortunately the googlie eyes I had were not quite proportionate to the dragon's body, but oh well)

Obviously we haven't celebrated this holiday yet because it's on the third, but I will be sure to post on all the fun things we do that day!

Happy Valentine's Day
Nothing too special about these Valentine cards. Just white paint hand prints on a pink paper and decorated with stickers by the kids.

We didn't do any Groundhog's Day cards, because 1. No really cute idea's came to mommy (unfortunately), 2. We had spent a lot of time doing cards and Mommy was tired, 3. Kole's birthday is on Groundhog's Day so we probably won't celebrate that holiday a whole lot, since we'll be busy with birthday fun!
But stay tuned for our St. Patrick's Day cards! I'm excited to post those because I think they are super cute!
Kole's 2nd birthday is tomorrow, so I'll be back with another post full of fun and birthday pictures!
Have a great day!
