Roger and Amy were married July 2006. Abby was born Jan. 2007. We were sealed as a family in the Manti, Utah temple on Nov. 2007. Kolob was born Feb. 2009. Ammon was born March 2011! Emma was born April 2013!
So the night after Roger and I had our date, Roger, Abby and Kole all had a sleep out in the tent.
But first, here are some pictures I took of the kids before hand.
Ok now for the camping pictures!
I think Ammon was wishing he could have smores too!
I made the fish game again so the kids could play it!
Mommy, and partly daddy, told bedtime stories of of knight Kolob in shining armor with his trusty steed Chance and the mare, Roxy, he brought along for princess Abby in distress to ride to safey, cowboy Kole and cowgirl Abby, Abby and Kole going back in time and meeting Indians, motorcycle daredevil Kole who never listened to his parents, wild child Abby who didn't listen to her parents, and more!
Then they all settled in...
And mommy went inside with Ammon, and we all went to bed. :)
Here is what Roger and I (and the kids) did for date night last night!
We had tin foil dinners... Notice one missing?? That would be Roger's... He went shooting instead. Yes, that's right... I was stood up for a bunch of men with guns.
Don't worry though, Roger did show up just in time for dessert.
Then I bathed the kids and put them to bed.
Then it was game time.
Yes, I had put up our huge tent all by myself. It was a pain. Be impressed.
First we went fishing!
Swedish fish with tiny metal brads (is that what they are called??) stuck in them, and a magnet on a string tied to a stick.
Then we played Scategories and Phase 10. It was pretty fun!
P.S. Today Roger made dinner, some pot roast, carrots, and rolls. It was yummy and he was really proud of himself and wanted me to take a picture of the rolls and post them on the blog. ;)
Sorry, I already had them put in a bag by the time he asked if I'd take a picture and post it.
Also, I went to my doctor this week. He ran some more tests and we are just waiting to hear back on them. I was really impressed with this doctor because he was doing all sorts of research and asking other doctors in the hospital about any ideas they had. He doesn't know what is going on and he isn't afraid to admit it. It was wonderful to have a doc who doesn't think he's a God and who actually cares enough to ask around and do some research! If the tests show something I should be getting a call about it this week. I'll be going back to the doc for a follow up next week (when he'll be back from being out of town).
We had a break in! But luckily we got pictures of the intruders for evidence!
First the little one entered...
Then he turned around to help his sidekick in...
And our "guard dogs" played with the intruders!
On the plus side... The little one was a constant yapper and he has hardly barked at all now that he is able to come into our backyard and play with our dogs!
Also, on a side note... MRI was done on my brain and that was fine. So the cause for my numbness/tingling/etc. is still unknown. But I go into my primary care physician tomorrow morning to touch base with him and to get a referral to a neurologist. But at least we know there isn't anything wrong with my brain, and that it IS in fact STILL THERE!
So, I wasn't feeling up for the date night I had planned, so instead we sat down and watched the movie...
And ate...
Which Roger made!! I have to pause here a moment and just say, Roger has been awesome. This week he has done most the dishes and cooked some meals. And yesterday he did mostly everything and made the treat for our date night since I haven't been up to doing much. And has helped me out today too. Good job, Roger!
And we had someone else join us for the first part of our date...
Just a quick update. Went back into the UCC today, as the doctor ordered. Found out the neurologist is concerned about me having Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Basically, it's something about a person's immune system attacking their nerves, or something along those lines... But the doctor that I saw today disagrees with the neurologist and thinks it's something else. So they set me up for an MRI of my brain, neck, and spine on Monday. If my symptoms worsen before Monday, I will have to go in and they will send me up to St. Luke's Hospital in Boise. But as for now, hoping the MRI will clear me of the GBS concern.
I know, how in the world could the mother of these kids possibly have a rough week?
I know, cute, right!?
But this week I've been extremely exhausted and dizzy, all week and then about Wednesday I started having weird skin pain/numbness/tingling on my stomach... Then Thursday the pain was in my hands and feet too and it was awful to touch anything.... Then about 1am this morning my entire left side went numb, Roger started googling 'signs of a stroke' and I told him to not be ridiculous, I'm to young to have a stroke. I told him that I didn't want to go into the UCC (urgent care center) so we would just call the doc in the morning and try and set me up a same-day appointment. So at 9am Roger called and tried to get me an appointment but when he told them my symptoms they told him to take me to the UCC. So I went. They took me into the little curtain room, the doc examined me, where we discovered how numb I actually was and how weak my left arm had become (I knew I felt weak and numb, but I didn't realize just HOW numb and weak) and they took some blood... Interesting story... While he was getting ready to take my blood I saw something moving on the ground... I said, "What is that!? You have some weird bug on your floor!" He turned around and kicked it across the room. It was a camel spider!
You know, the ones that catch rides to the US with the soldiers coming back from the Middle East.
Anyway, the doc came back in at about 1pm and told me the blood tests were normal and that he wanted to call a neurologist and see if he could get me seen by them and see if they wanted him to run some more tests. So he went and call a neurologist, and came back and told me that, "The neurologist suspects it is a rare neurological disorder that starts with these symptoms and then leads to weakness, usually in the legs, and loss of reflexes."... So he wants me to come back to the UCC tomorrow, and maybe the next day (I'm assuming because it will be the weekend) to check my symptoms and reflexes again, and then we will go from there. So all that this week, mixed with Abby and Kole throwing tantrums right and left, and Ammon fussy from teething, among many other things, has made this week a little rough. Hope you all have had a better week, and have a great weekend!
